Lethal Force Gun Laws
Strategies & Tactics
What? GUN LAWS? Who needs 'em!
Will your current understanding of the laws surrounding the judicious use of lethal force stand up to the scrutiny of the arriving law enforcement officers at your shooting scene? How about the possibility of a criminal courtroom procedure?
Shooting a firearm is very easy. It can be done with practically no formal training. Just ask any of the startled folks that have fired a round through something that they later wish they hadn't. Shooting a handgun with speed and accuracy, is another issue, and takes both quality training and dedicated practice in order to achieve winning results. Just ask any survivor of a gunfight.
Are you feelin' lucky? Well.... Are you?
This will be a detailed examination of the Judicious Use of Lethal Force, and the laws surrounding the etiquette and protocols of owning a defensive firearm, aimed at the law-abiding gun owner that has assumed the responsibility to own a firearm for personal defense.
Knowing HOW to shoot the gun is the easy part and it takes no skill to get INTO a gunfight. The real skill is understanding how to AVOID a potentially deadly confrontation. But Understanding WHEN... and most importantly; when NOT to use deadly force is what this conference is all about.

J.B. Herren will deliver the opening greeting and begin this

You must know and understand the laws governing self- defense, and the judicious use of deadly force. This day sets the stage for our series of presentations from an All Star Team of America’s most trusted trainers. The following days will bring detail and clarity to the scope of the responsibility every gun owner assumes when he brings a gun to the fight.
"Altered Perceptions During & After Deadly Force Encounters"
We begin this morning with a detailed presentation from
Dr. Alexis Artwohl. She is the co-author of
the book “DEADLY ENCOUNTERS”, as well
as other publications. During her 16 years
as a private practice clinical and police
psychologist, she provided consultation to
multiple agencies throughout the Pacific
Northwest as well as traumatic incident debriefings and
psychotherapy to numerous public safety personnel and their
family members. THIS is the important skill set that will help preserve your personal freedom and articulate exactly what led up to the violent encounter, and why your actions were reasonable and justifiable.
“Aftermath: Lessons in Self-Defense”
Attorney Jim Fleming has over 34 years of legal experience.
As a former police investigator, he understands the criminal
justice system and how it operates. He is author of
AFTERMATH: Lessons in Self-Defense”.
So…. You have made the decision to arm yourself for self-
defense. Have you given adequate thought to the consequences of your involvement in a deadly force encounter?
What are the chances? What is at stake? Conservative estimates
place the number of self-defense incidents nationwide at over
100,000 each year. If it does happen to you, after you have
survived the fight, then what do you do? What do you say, to
whom do you say it, and when do you say it? How do you deal
with neighbors, friends, your own family, the media, and the
police? How do you protect yourself legally in the ongoing battle
to safeguard your life and liberty?
This is the day that will prepare you for what to expect … after the shooting stops.
“Unthinkable” … the Fatal Choice
Dr. William Aprill is a licensed mental health professional with over 20 years of face-to-face experience examining, and dealing with, the dark side of criminal violence.
How do violent criminals think of us?
How are human monsters made … and/or born?
What do we do when faced with unknown threats?
What about a drawn gun?
Through those years of experiences, time has led William to
a better understanding of how a Violent Criminal Actor (VCA)
evaluates us, and how our actions may encourage the VCA
to choose us, rather than the other choices that may be available to him (her?) at the time.
You will learn how common it is for the well-meaning citizen to inadvertently make decisions that may move him/her to the top of the potential target list, in the minds of the VCA.
You cannot control what “others” have planned for you.
You CAN control what you would plan to DO about it. THAT will empower you. THAT will prevent others from trying to control YOU.
Day #6: Tuesday, October 8th - Is this Day #6 already?
